Now available for download is Quick Tag 0.4 beta which features support for tagging multiple songs at once, a rating control, and a ‘check for updates’ feature. Here is a bit more detail:

Added the ability to tag multiple songs at once. This feature is called Multi-Tag and can be activated by a separate hot key. [...]

If you don’t want to create a smart playlist for some random set of tags you are interested in, you can do the following:

Go to your Library Playlist with all of your songs
Select View > View Options from the iTunes menu.
Ensure either “Grouping” or “Comment” is checked. (Use which ever field you are storing your [...]

Now that most browsers can auto-detect the RSS feed for a website, I thought I would share this very simple tip so that your RSS feed can be auto-detected. I am sure most people probably know this already, but it is something I just recently learns and thought I would share it.
Just add the following [...]

Warning: Performing the steps outlined in the following links may brick your router! If you’re not familiar with the term “brick”, it basically means it will turn your router into one of the best $60 blue paperweights in town.
Two nights ago, I reconfigured my home network. I was previously running a 4 port Linksys router [...]

Not even 24 hours after releasing Quick Tag, I’m rolling out a new version with a important bug fix and a few other little improvements.
Version 0.3.2 Change Log:
- Fixed a problem when using a space as a tag separator and using multi-word tags.
- Added a link to the support forums under the Help [...]

A few of us hit the slopes at Crabbe Mountain on Saturday, and I must say the conditions were excellent. Carrie is getting very good at snowboarding. She has picked it up faster than some guys I know. She even hit her first little jump and kept up with the boys on the black diamonds.
The [...]

We all know how popular tagging has become recently with sites like Flickr and Del.icio.us (just to name a few). It is incredibly useful and has even started to makes its way into applications with great success. It provides a great way of organizing content and grouping related items that makes sense in a lot [...]

Speed Up Safari

Apparently Safari has a timer built in to delay page loading. Not sure why, some people seem to think it has to do with preventing the CSS from not loading. Removing this delay makes Safari very snappy and very nice!
Here’s how to speed up Safari (it’s pretty easy):

Download Safari Speed.
Quit Safari.
Run Safari Speed, select the [...]

A while back I posted a tip on using Quicksilver for quick reminders to MacOSXHints.com (and also to this blog) and tonight it showed up on the front page of Digg. Sometimes it just takes a while for things to catch on…
Edit: This is also my 100th post!

Since m3u playlists are a big part of the new inDiscover (that ever so quietly launched in the last couple of weeks and that I have been holding off on posting about) and iTunes’ default handling of m3u files is pretty sad and pathetic, I went on a search for a better solution.
What I found [...]

It’s been a week now since I’ve been back from New York City, but I figured I would post a bit about my trip. I was there for 5 days visiting my sister and her husband (who live in Brooklyn) but I was staying with my Dad who was there on business in Manhattan. It [...]
